Following a tragic graduation season in 1979, when several teens in the Oxford Hills region of Maine lost their lives in drug- and alcohol-related traffic accidents, parents, educators, and community leaders came together to make sure such a tragedy would never happen again. Their efforts led to the creation of the first Project Graduation in 1980—a safe, drug- and alcohol-free, all-night celebration that gave graduating seniors a fun and memorable way to celebrate this important milestone while keeping them safe.

The initial event was a historic success, resulting in zero fatalities, accidents, or arrests. By 1986, the initiative expanded to all 50 states, becoming the gold-standard national model for protecting high school seniors on the single deadliest night of their young adult lives

Edgewood Project Graduation will host an overnight lock-in event at a local venue where students can celebrate a fun, safe, last hurrah together. We will provide food, drinks, entertainment, prizes, games, and a lifetime of positive memories for the graduating Class of 2027!

Edgewood Project Graduation, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization. We do not receive funding from school or district budgets. The success of our celebration relies entirely on the volunteerism, financial donations, and logistical backing of our amazing parents and corporate neighbors.

WHAT IS PROJECT GRADUATION?
